weedsnake “Grimorium cannabinarum” new vinyl out now
From somewhere deep within a crumbling temple honoring long-forgotten bloodthirsty flesh-eating gods comes a dark, grinding sound. Carried on thick clouds of fragrant cannabis smoke, rises a sludgy, stoney, wail of occult-tinged doom metal – songs from the new album by Mexico City’s Weedsnake – Grimorium Cannabinarum.
For the first time on vinyl, Weedsnake return with another blazingly heavy, sludgy, resin soaked and smoke filled headbangathon. Somewhere at the dark intersections of sludge, hardcore, and doom, Weedsnake fires up hymns to weed, horror, and the occult.
Straight from the bleeding heart of Mexico City’s underground doom metal scene, Weedsnake unleashes their latest album upon an unsuspecting populace. Mastered by Monolord’s Esben Willems, two mind-melting vinyl editions are available now from Things From Beyond.
Band Edition: Purple/silver splatter vinyl, ltd ed of 250. Includes 11x17” poster, color insert, lyric sheet, stickers.
Retail Edition: Black vinyl, ltd ed of 500. Includes color insert and stickers.
STATEMENT FROM THE BAND: Weedsnake plays metal canábico and has been active since 2010 playing in Mexico and in other countries. The band has four full length albums and three split albums, two live sessions and appears in a few compilations.
We all came out of the Mexican hardcore punk and metal scenes. We have shared the stage with several Mexican bands from different heavy scenes. Bands such as Satanico Pandemonium, Oculto, El Ahorcado, Vinnum Sabbathi, Sementales Salvajes, Terror Cosmico, Antimaster, El Escuadron de la Muerte , among many others.
Our mutual passion for smoking the sweetest leaf brought us together. We've always been a band that embraces, supports, and indulges the free use of marihuana consumption. We enjoy burning the devil's hooves, we like to get our eyes red as hell and our minds floating in space.
The new album is an ode to marihuana, mushrooms, Iommic riffs, psychedelia, altered states of consciousness and the worship of the forbidden cult.

Be prepared for a violent onslaught of death based growls amongst superbly played riffs, proving the Mexican Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal scene is worth giving a damn about.” - Steve Howe, Outlaws of the Sun
“Absolutely filthy stoner doom madness that goes right for the jugular.” - Colin M., Bandcamp
“My god this is heavy. This band rips the heads off all others and smokes them in a snake bong.” - Dooomshire, Bandcamp
